You deserved to be seen in what you went through.
But almost no one really was there for it, and that's been affecting you more than you know.
The hardest part may not be what happened. It's that almost no one really saw it happen, or asked, or noticed you were carrying it alone. That absence has its own weight, and it's often heavier than the original wound.
You don't have to do anything with this yet. A few things worth noticing this week:
- Name who wasn't there. Not to blame them, just to see clearly who was missing when it mattered.
- Notice your instinct to explain yourself. Catch yourself over-explaining or justifying this week, and ask what you're actually trying to get someone to see.
- Let yourself feel the absence. It's allowed to hurt that no one asked.
That absence isn't something you can fully resolve by yourself, being witnessed is the thing that was missing the first time.
